| Yahoo launches its new product – Yahoo SearchPad, Now live ! Posted: 07 Jul 2009 05:53 AM PDT Boy these Yahoo guys keep coming up with new stuff you know, this time its the Search Pad, the Yahoo SearchPad ! Wondering what's it ? Here's what Yahoo has to say.
- You can save your documents using your Yahoo! ID so you can access your documents from anywhere on the Web. - After you've done your research, you can publish your document to a permanent URL to share with friends and family. I love these lines form Yahoo -
Here's a demo video for SearchPad From what I understood, yahoo SearchPad is an online note taking, sort of application which is intelligent enough to track your search patterns and suggest you best options taking clues from your search history. Its also got sharing options which is great. The only problem is that I haven't used anything else like it earlier, its new. So am going to try getting used to it. What do you think of it ? | ReTweet Plugin for WordPress – A better alternative for Tweetmeme buttons Posted: 07 Jul 2009 03:42 AM PDT The Tweetmeme plugin for WordPress was the only impressive plugin out there that helped me add a retweet button to blog articles (remember that green button?), but not any more. The BackType guys have come up with their own version of a WordPress Re-Tweet Twitter plugin, that will do things just better !
BackType has been a great service so far, it finds all the tweets on Twitter that has a link to your blog, no matter whether the source (you or the blog) is credited or not. This is a huge advantage over Tweetmeme if you ask me. Because Tweetmeme only displays the number of tweets that were retweeted mentioning them(@tweetmeme). (I couldn’t confirm this but am sure that there were a lot of tweets that tweetmeme ignored) Some of the advantages of using the BackType ReTweet button instead of the Tweetmeme Twitter plugin- You can specify the colours of the retweet button (Background and border). - Specify the size, shape and location of the button. - Tweetmeme usually picks up the page title which might contain the blog name, but this one only picks up the post title or just what’s available on the permalink. This is super cool ! - Manually position the button anywhere on the post. - Optionally attribute Backtype or avoid it. - Customize the spacing, margins etc with CSS style. - Change the leading text (add your name or so) - Use a custom URL shortner (awe.sm)
You can see the button in action right here on DSB. Download the plugin here I'd love to connect with you on Facebook | Linked In or Twitter. Feel Free to add me to your friends list - Mani |
